I have experimented myself successfully the John Bedini's Magnetic Gate.

Addionnal notes ( 09-27-99 ) : Some recent tests in a closed loop run have shown that the Magnetic Gate works as a common energy conservative system ( unfortunately, no Overunity effect in a closed loop run ). The Magnetic Gate in this case act as a simple magnetic spring preloaded which launch its probe along the path. See some tests reports and comments below :
