I have also done some tests for checking if the PFT Motor mk2 works as a simple induction motor : Some curved aluminum foils have been added on the ball so as to increase the E-Field coupling ( the capacitance ) with the rotor (see below).

Induction effect testing setup.

Tests results : with this setup the speed was low (480 RPM) and the leakage current high (30uA). This now confirms that the high speed rotation wasn't generated by the induction effect.
